New Moons I

New Moon for October:
Karaite: October 9 (5:14pm)
Scientific:  October 7 (8:44pm)

The scientific (dark of the moon) on October 7th is at the same time as the Comet Hartley has its near pass by the double star clusters in Casseopea.  No significance to the Karaite date.

So then Cheshvan 17:
Karaite:  October 25
Scientific:  October 23

The scientific (did I mention this makes more sense?) is the full moon, ironically.  It’s also three (number of unity, one-mindedness) days after the nearest pass to the Earth by Comet Hartley.

Do you remember Genesis?
It says (1) ‘In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (2) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep, and the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

According to JewFAQ, the new moon symbolizes the ‘birth’ of a day, or the ‘beginning’ of a new cycle, much like creation.  Well, honey, I just read two verses, the first two verses of the Creation story, and the ‘beginning’ didn’t start with light, it started with void/darkness… THEN came the light.  So this whole BS belief by Messianics that the ‘new moon’ is not the dark of the moon?  It doesn’t hold with scripture.  Scripture ‘begins’ the ‘birth’ with darkness.  This is yet another reason I have REAL problem with the Karaite way of needing to ‘sight’ the new moon in order for it be a ‘new’ day.  That and nothing matches it event wise, and the full moon is always off when you do it their way.  Just sayin’.
