Chag Shavuot Sameach!!  (Happy Pentecost!)

Today’s post is going to be long.  It’s important, and I really hope you’ll read it all – it’s fascinating, and SO, SO relevant, especially to this year – 2017.  Because today is Shavuot/Pentecost.

THE NAME
Pentecost is a name based on the fact that it’s 50 days after Passover.  Hence the whole ‘pente’ thing.  Shavuot is Hebrew for ‘weeks’ – because there are seven weeks between Pesach and Shavuot.  Which is actually a better way to mark it, since sevens are HUGE with Adonai… fifties?  Not so much.

“Shovuos is the culmination of fifty days after going out of Egypt. We find that fifty is a number associated with travelling.  …Yet, fifty also represents that which is removed from time or spatiality. The Gemoro says the inverted nuns indicate that these pesukim are not in their right place and – ‘in the future’ they we will be placed correctly…  It lies, as it were, above the normal cycle of time. It is here that G-d meets us.”

The names of this holiday are:  Chag Shavuot – The Feast of Weeks,  Z’man Matan Torateinu – The Time of the Giving of Our Torah, Chag HaBikkurim – The Holiday of the First Fruits,   Atzeret – The Holiday of “Being Held Back, or Restrained, Close to Hashem, in the Temple, Chag HaKatzir – The Holiday of the Cutting of the Crop , Chag Shavuot – The Feast of Weeks

THE DATE
Pentecost is 6 Sivan, by the count of the Omer.  Jewish months always start on the first sighting of the ‘new moon’.  If you look at a lunar calendar (LINK), you will see that May 26, 2017 was 1 Sivan.  Which means that May 31st, 2017 is 6 Sivan, or Shavuot.

THE COMMAND
This is what it says about Pentecost/Shavuot in scripture:

And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of the wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year’s end.  Thrice in the year shall all your men children appear before the Lord God, the God of Israel. – Exodus 34:22-23

Now about the Shalosh Regalum.  These are three of the seven feasts of Leviticus 23 in which the people were to gather before the Lord.  This happened during the Feast of Tabernacles (Ingathering) – which was “Yehovah’s” feast.  Then it happened during FirstFruits (Resurrection Day) – which is “Yehshua’s Day”.  Then it happened during the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost) – which is the “Holy Spirit’s Day” of coming.  The Trinity… do you see it?  It’s way kewl how He set these things up YEARS in advance.

And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the Lord thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give unto the Lord thy God, according as the Lord thy God hath blessed thee.  Deut. 16:10

Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the Lord.  Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals; they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the Lord…  Leviticus 23:16-17

Did you catch that?  While we are not to eat any leaven during Passover/Pesach, the bread of Pentecost/Shavuot is commanded to be leavened!  What a reversal!

OLD TESTAMENT FULFILLMENT
According to Jewish history, Pentecost was the day that the Israelites assembled under Mt. Sinai and God.  This story (undated, alas) is in Exodus 19:

In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai… And the Lord said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud that the people may hear when I speak with thee… And be ready against the third day: for the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon the Mount Sinai.

NEW TESTAMENT FULFILLMENT
Most people just relate Pentecost/Shavuot to the New Testament story of the disciples in the Upper Room.  But they don’t even have the WHOLE of the story.  Check this!

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.  And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:1-4

Now we’re gonna get technical… bear with me.  Yehshua was raised from the dead on Firstfruits, fulfilling that feast’s symbolism.  It’s been proven that He was in the grave THREE DAYS.  He was on earth for FORTY DAYS (number symbolic of testing/trying) after His resurrection, and then He ascended into Heaven (Acts 1:9).  So we have (from Passover) 3+40= FORTY-THREE DAYS.  Following along in Acts, you’ll see that the next thing the disciples did was go to Jerusalem, which was only a short walk from the Mount of Olives – done in the time people would go for a walk.  They returned to the Upper Room, and vs 15 indicates there were ‘days’ between the ascension and Pentecost… that is, if Pentecost is FIFTY DAYS after Passover, there would be 43-50= SEVEN DAYS here in between the ascension and Pentecost.  ((God’s number, again!!))

PRESENT FULFILLMENT
SEVEN days after Pentecost in 2003, there was an unusual sign in the heavens that many of you remember me geeking out about.  It was a lunar eclipse, but it was unlike any ever seen before for several reasons:  It was known as an ‘engagement ring’ eclipse – it looked like a ring of promise.  It also was located in the constellation that symbolized Christ the coming King, right in the middle of the seven sister stars representative of the church.  ((binding Christ to His bride!?))  And the most unusual thing was that – unlike any other lunar eclipse – it came from the east, and not from the west.  ((Christ is foretold to come from the eastern sky, so there’s Biblical significance there.))

Four years later, the 2007 ENPI started the Tribulation.  Three years after that –  SEVEN years after that special sign in the heavens marking the bride’s ‘engagement’ to Yehshua –  there was another sign.  SEVEN days BEFORE Pentecost in 2010 there was ANOTHER unusual sign in the heavens.  This time, it’s the conjunction of the moon (in the shape of a bowl) with Venus (Bright morning star) coming down into it, and this took place in between the horns of Taurus, which symbolize the one who will bring judgment.  The timing on these two events and their meanings are astonishing.

This year?  Is 2017.  It’s SEVEN years after the previous signs.  Does this mean anything?  We’ll soon find out!

FUTURE FULFILLMENT?
I have been reading some interesting things.  It seems a LOT of people believe the rapture could happen on Shavuot.  Christ (the groom) ascended to Heaven seven days before, and the Spirit was given to us to ‘bind’ us to the Lord.  Moses was given the Law on Shavuot… that it was a ‘contract’ binding us to God before the Spirit became the Law within us.  The 2003 ‘ring’ in the heavens seven days before was a symbol binding us to Yeshua as His Bride before we are with Him in the spirit.  Which brings me to what someone wrote that I have to share:

In my humble opinion – all of Israel, both Ger and Ezrach alike, is represented in the wheat harvest but only a select group will be waved before YHVH and filled with a double portion of His Spirit at the beginning of the coming last days. The Pentecost in Acts 2 is only a shadow picture of the “main event” which will take place in the latter days. You can be sure that all those faithful believers in Acts 2 kept a True Passover and were subsequently empowered to proclaim the “good news” of YHVH’s kingdom throughout the earth.  …Only True Israel, the ezrach, will be sealed on this day; no one else!

What he just said is multi-faceted.  And I don’t mean to get complicated (< hoping it’s not!), but the disciples were being sealed and set aside as ‘special’ – by the Spirit – on Pentecost!  Which would also mean that the firstfruits of those who will dwell with him – the Rev 7 group – could also be taken on this day.
