Vaudeville Bill

The last of our summer events was last night, and I thought I’d include a few videos from it.  This guy was very much about telling the kids how vaudeville acts of the late 1800s were put on, the order of the acts, and why/how they did what they did.  He spoke with an Irish accent, and came off as kind of a quirky non-leprechaun.  More, he did the entire poem, ‘Casey at the Bat’, acted out in his big shoes.  He was amazingly talented, as you can see from the videos.  And informative, too.

Sadly, very few people were there.  Maybe eleven or twelve parental sets, and perhaps twenty-five children.  These were free events, but people just don’t bring their children out to learn and be entertained by live performers, anymore.  Still… we had a wonderful time.
