The Cord of Mosiach

 

Very odd things I have been reading, lately.  Yesterday I was catching up on a Jewish blog I read (CLaRiFiCaTioN:  Jewish, NOT Messianic), and I read this:

 

In the generation of Moshiach, Hashem will, so to speak, stretch a long rope from one end of the world to the other, and all of Klal Yisrael will take hold and grasp the rope. Hashem will take one end of the rope, and violently shake it until they will all be in the air. Not everyone will be able to withstand this shaking and many will fall to the ground. The foolish ones will say “If Hashem is shaking us so hard, surely He wants us to loosen our grasp” and they will fall to the ground. Only the wise ones will hold on tight with all their strength and might. This is “chevlo shel Moshiach” – literally “the rope of Moshiach” – usually translated as “the labor pains of Moshiach”.

Now I want to clarify (again) that this is wholly Jewish, NOT Messianic.  The source of this statement is rabbinic, not scriptural.  But it dropped my jaw, literally.  ((For those unfamiliar with Hebrew, Moshiach=Messiah, Hashem=The Lord, and Klal Yisrael=True Israel, or those found in Messiah.))  But the two things that jumped out at me were that this sounded almost like a ‘rapture’ of sorts (grasping the rope, being shaken ‘into the air’… don’t we meet Him ‘in the air’?)…

And also something else:  I once wrote did a blog about Hopi Prophecy… and in it this was one of the prophecies they have:

There are two water serpents, one at each pole with a warrior sitting on his head and tail. These command nature to warn us by her activities that time is getting short, and we must correct ourselves. If we refuse to heed these warnings, the warriors will let go of the serpents; they will rise up, and all will perish.

aNNa’S NoTe:  In Revelation it says that there are four spirits/angels coming from the waters of the Euphrates that will be loosed and will destroy a third of mankind.  That matches the four warriors on these two ‘water serpents’.  What if the ‘Euphrates’ is symbolic of the pole running thru our planet?  Just wondering…

Now… in light of the Rabbinic writings about a ‘cord’ from one END of the world to the other, and this Hopi prophecy about a ‘pole’ from one end to the other, I can’t help but wonder.  I’ve read many things that say that the rapture will be reasoned away, blamed on a magnetic/polar shift.  What if there’s more truth to that then we originally thought?  What if the ‘serpents’ or ‘Euphrates’ or ‘cord’ that the angels/warriors are all the same thing?  And what do you think about the rabbinic teaching?

I’m just thinking out loud, today… and putting LOTS of puzzle pieces together…
