DAY 11: The Nova
It’s been one crazy summer, as far as signs go!
First, there was this circle:
Damnable picture was taken upside down, but no matter… At any rate, according to the crop circle English dudes, the symbols around the outside are an ancient Celtic alphabet, and spell out a word: ARISE. Or in their words, “Arise, the time is at hand!” A very exciting word and statement, if you’re a watcher!
Then yesterday, my friend Pablo linked me to something happening in the heavens… and hang on, but I’ll explain how this is all related AFTER I show you what happened, last night:
A magnitude-4.5 nova has brightened in Delphinus, now on fine display high in the evening sky. The “new star” erupted on August 14th. It’s easy to see with binoculars even in bright urban surroundings with a good chart, and it’s visible to the unaided eye in a fairly dark sky.
Update August 16th: Two days after its discovery the nova is still brightening at a steady rate. Observers around the world have been watching it grow almost hour by hour. As of 9 a.m. EDT (13h UT) August 16th it was up to magnitude 4.5.
When Pablo sent this to me (and he watches from a different perspective, btw… he’s an ex-NASA engineer and not of the same belief system as I am), I of course ran off to find out what Bibilical Astronomy has to say about Delphinus:
Delphinus had many ancient names: Dalap (Hebrew), pouring out swiftly. Scalooin (Arabic), swift (as the flow of water). Rotaneb (Syriac), swiftly running. The Sign Capricornus along with its decan constellations Sagitta, Aquila, and Delphinus portray the crucifixion, resurrection and ascension of Messiah.
E. W. Bullinger’s The Witness of the Stars concerning Delphinus says: “[Delphinus] is always figured as a fish full of life… The great peculiar characteristic of the dolphin is its rising up, leaping, and springing out of the sea. …Here, in connection with His people, with the multitudes of His redeemed …He is “the first-fruits of them that slept”; then He, too, is here represented as a fish.”
So Delphinus is the sign of ascension – something that is poured out on the redeemed, swiftly. First we have the crop circle, ‘Arise!’, and now we have a sign in the heavens – a new star erupting – seven days before the Elul full moon! – in Delphinus, the ‘ascension’ or ‘arising’ sign! And as if THAT isn’t enough… wanna see what EarthSky posted, this morning? Keep in mind the shape of our ‘Arise!’ crop circle…
Gee, I don’t know… does that kind of look like an… HOURGLASS to you? Cuz it sure does to me!! An hourglass, in the ‘arising’ constellation. Yeah, THAT’S not a sign, or anything!! Pardon me while I geek a little bit, over here…!! It’s so exciting!
But I don’t ever just let it lie, there. I went to Google images and typed in ‘nova’ and ‘delphinus’, and found this white picture of the nova. Which… something’s off, here. It appears that, while astronomers are calling it “in” Delphinus, it actually right between Saggita and Delphinus. So I went to Stellarium to find out what the heck a Saggita is… and it’s an arrow.
What does that mean? It means that there’s another sign to consider. So BACK to Biblical astronomy, to find out what the meaning of Saggita is, right? Because maybe that’s another clue:
This arrow represents the arrow of God’s wrath sent forth toward his enemies. Messiah Y’shua took the strike of this arrow upon Himself to save those who would believe in Him. He took God’s wrath on Himself so it would not fall on us who were deserving of it. Those who are now in Messiah are not appointed to the wrath of God because of what Y’shua accomplished on the cross. This is a large part of the “Good News.”
So this nova isn’t JUST the ascension of the Redeemer and those who are in Him. It’s even MORE specific than that! It’s the ascension of the Redeemer and His own NOT APPOINTED TO THE WRATH. This is a rapture reference, and a Tribulation reference. Its a timing signifier, now, as well as an event signifier! Ho. Lee. Wha! If I wasn’t geeking before, I’m SOOOOO geeking, now!! Arise! Prepare yourself, this Elul. Get your life, spirituality, and house in order… for the time is at hand!
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
