Second Half Seals

Like I was saying a few days ago (when in the post about the Beasts/Aspects of Love that were found in Revelation six), the Seal Judgments are what Messiah called “The Beginning of Sorrows“.  In other words, they’re the ‘kick-off‘ of things… how it begins.  Slowly, hardly noticed.  Like when you start a snowman with a handful of snow.  Nobody from the road would notice that.  It’s not until it rolls around and rolls around, growing bigger and bigger, and finally is the size of a beach ball or more that people can even see it.

The other thing I told you about the seal judgments was that they’re bookends.  We talk a lot about end times ‘bookends’ here, because pretty much everything John writes about *ARE* bookends.  In other words, they ‘bracket‘ a period of time, and the first half of what he says comes at the beginning of that period of time, and the second half of what he says ends that period of time.

I wrote an entire post about how the Seal Judgments are ‘bookends’ here (if you want to re-visit it), but today I want to look at the latter ‘bookend’ half of the Seal Judgments.  First come the Seal Judgments, and I’m going to ‘bookend’ them with blue and green, to make it easier to see, okay?

The blue has been fulfilled,
the green has NOT… yet:

Seal #1 – And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.  And I saw, and behold a white horse: and He that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto Him: and He went forth conquering, and to conquer.

SEAL #2 –  And when He had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

SEAL #3 – And when He had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.  And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

SEAL #4 – And when He had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.  And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

SEAL #5 – And when He had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:  And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?  And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

SEAL #6 – And I beheld when He had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;  And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.  And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;  And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:  For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

If you want to know how the first halves were all fulfilled (because they have been – we’re in Revelation 14/15, at the moment), that link at the top of this post explains in detail.  This time, I’m interested in only the parts that are *NOT* fulfilled, yet.

And now as to the reason WHY.

Today I wanted to look at WHEN the fulfillments will be for these second half ‘bookends’.  Logic says that if the first half of each opened in order, then the second half will do the same.  Right?  Except when will this happen?

Obviously when the Lord rides out on a white horse, since that’s the FIRST thing that happens among the ‘second halves’ above.  And when does THAT happen?  Not until chapter 19: 11-16  :

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war.  His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself.

And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called The Word of God.  And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.  And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.

First thing to notice is that we start in Rev 19 with a white horse, just like the Seal Judgments in Rev 6.  Then we see that the one who rides him is Faithful and True, His name the ‘Word of God’.  John says in John 1:1 that “The Word was with God, and the Word was God” and in John 1:16 “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us“.  This is Christ, obviously.  King of Kings, Lord of Lords…?!

Second thing to notice is that “He doth judge and make war“.  What is the symbol of justice/judges?  BALANCES.  What is the symbol of war?  A SWORD.  What does the first (white) rider do?  Conquers.  What does the second (red) rider do?  Makes war.  What does the third (black) rider do?  He judges/makes decisions.

The first three judgments ALL MATCH the first three things that happen at the start of the Second Coming.  More, you’ll notice that the first three riders are NOT named in the Seal judgments… but the fourth is identified – not as Christ, but as Death.  What happens in Revelation 19 when Christ rides out to judge and make war?  An angel of Death announces the end of humanity.  Check it:

And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;  That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

Sounds like this angel is the Angel of Death, maybe even goes by the name ‘Death’?  He’s the fourth seal fulfillment from Rev 6, definitely… and everything is in chronological order, too!!

I should probably clarify that this coming of Messiah on a horse is NOT the Rapture.  This happens in Rev 19.  The Rapture is in Rev 15 (with references in Rev 3:10, Rev 7b, Rev 14a, Rev 19:6-9, as well as in 1 Corinthians 15 and other places, too.  That’s NOT this.)

This is the Second Coming that we’re looking at, today, NOT the Rapture. Messiah comes twice, and neither of them are the Rapture.  He does NOT come to Earth for that – we go to Him at that event.  The Second Coming is a physical coming to earth for a specific duration of time.

For those who’ve never heard this, Mosiach ben Yosef came as a servant and died on a cross around 33AD.  The Jews have long held that if they fell short of God’s pleasure, they would merit the arrival of Mosiach ben Yosef, the servant.  If they didn’t fall short of God’s pleasure, they would merit the arrival of Mosiach ben David, the conquering king.  Obviously they don’t want to admit that they didn’t merit God’s pleasure, so they VEHEMENTLY deny that Yeshua was the Christ, the Savior.  Otherwise, if He *were* the Christ?  They executed God’s Messiah.  That’s… not even something they will tolerate hearing, let alone admitting to.

That’s why the Jews are still waiting for their Messiah.  What the Jews don’t know is that they’re wrong.  He’s not coming this way OR that way… He’s slated to come BOTH ways.  And when He comes (at the second coming, as foretold by John in Revelation 19)?  It will be Mosiach ben David, this time.  He’s the SAME Savior that came before – Yeshua of Galilee, Mosiach ben Yosef – but this time, they will see a conquering king, and THAT they will accept.

Except do they merit any better than they did, back in 33AD?  Um, that’d be a strong NO.  In fact, they’re FAR worse off than they were back then – at least then they had a temple and daily sacrifices and all of Israel and Jerusalem belonged to them.  They don’t have any of that, now… and the faith of the fathers has been watered down so badly since then that things are… well, let’s just say their Savior isn’t gonna work out exactly the way they’re hoping He will.

I’ll let you read Revelation 19 for the details on that.

What my point is, today, is that YES!  Yeshua has come as Messiah-the-Lowly-Servant before.  And YES!  Messiah is coming as the Messiah-the-Conquering-King, again.

My other point is that YES!  The coming fulfillments of the Seal Judgments in Revelation 6 align with what it says in Revelation 19.  Which means that we won’t be here to see them fulfilled, completely.  Well… if we’re part of the army that’s coming back with Him, then YES! we will see them fulfilled before our eyes.  But we won’t be on earth for that.

Which is a relief to know.  Because I don’t like loose ends, and I like to know WHEN things are going down, so that I don’t miss things.  The seals were/are only half fulfilled, so I wanted to know if the rest of the fulfillment was something that I needed to be watching for, next.

That’s a solid NO.  That comes much later – after the Rapture, after the Vial Judgments, after the Marriage Supper.  That’s not on my ‘pending’ agenda.  So that’s really good to know.
