The Latter Rains II

About that article yesterday that I was reading… it wasn’t about when Noah went into the ark, it was about the rapture happening October 25, 2010.  And I know that when I posted that, I never got around to the WHY of that theory.  Well, the woman who wrote it said that if ‘as in the days of Noe and Lot’ is how we will be taken away before the wrath begins, then we should look at those two examples.  And what she concluded was this:

In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.  And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.  In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;   Gen 7:11-13

The conclusion being that if Noah was ‘raptured’ or taken out of the wrath on the 2nd month, the seventeenth day, then so will we – Cheshvan 17 is October 25, 2010 this year.  So now I get it where that date comes from.

Except that she screwed up the ‘latter and former rain’ thing.  Why?  Look at this:

Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for He hath given you the former rain moderately, and He will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. Joel 2:23

So can the ‘latter/former rain’ be Cheshvan 17?  No, because that’s the second month, and scripture is clear the latter and former rains come in the FIRST month.  So the reality of duality that I talked about yesterday – that I feel there is in regards to this – is NOT the Great Flood wrath and the End Times wrath.

((Not that I’m saying her Cheshvan 17 date is wrong – I don’t know – but it’s NOT got anything to do with the latter/former rains, that’s all.))

So what IS the other meaning of the ‘latter rains’, if the first is a reference to the Holy Spirit, as the ‘c’hurch claims?  Well, believe it or not, the JEWISH sites nailed it for me.  Thank heavens for them – they make christian prophecy sites look so one-dimensional to me these days…!!  Check this:

Yoel (Joel) 2:23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in HaShem your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first [month].

Strong’s defines FORMER RAIN as:
4175 mowreh, mo-reh’; from 3384; an archer; also teacher or teaching; also the early rain (see 3138 early, former) rain.

Strong’s defines MODERATELY as:
6666 tsedaqah, tsed-aw-kaw’; from 6663; rightness (abstr.), subj. (rectitude), obj. (justice), mor. (virtue) or fig. (prosperity):- justice, moderately, right (-eous) (act, -ly, -ness).

Strong’s defines LATTER RAINS as:
4456 malqowsh, mal-koshe’; from 3953; the spring rain (comp. 3954); fig. eloquence:-latter rain.

So, the remez of this verse indicates that the teacher of righteousness will come in the autumn!

Do you see that?!  What Joel is prophesying is that Yeshua would come in the autumn… and does He?  YES!  He came the first of Sukkot, which is Tishri 15 – the fifteenth of the first month!  WoooooT!!!  And what does Sukkot signify in the end times?  That Messiah will come again and reign from Jerusalem… to be fulfilled during the feasts of Tishri, as well!!  Which fits Hosea 6:3 that she quoted (from yesterday’s blog):

Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

And yes, there’s a New Testament verse to the same tune, too:

“Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord.  Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until He receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.”  James 5:7,8

So even though it has little to do with the ‘rapture’, per se, it DOES have to do with more than just an outpouring of the Holy Spirit (if it even has ANYTHING to do with that – you find no verses to support that christian allegation).  Yet the Jews – who reject Yeshua and the New Testament STILL know what the Latter and former rains are!  Isn’t that amazing?

I love learning new things, and this one is DEFINITELY getting taped in my Bible!!
